Thus there is no dispute about Rumiâs culture, literary heritage. And even his native language as mentioned by scholars was Persian. This article discusses the Persian background of Rumi and responds to some recent distortions by some nationalistic circles who have tried to deprive him of his Iranian heritage. We also discuss the Iranian heritage of Shams Tabrizi in this article;
